Dear Meriden Public Schools Employee and Family Member:
Meriden Public Schools values its employees, not only as employees, but as individuals. On occasion people encounter personal problems that are difficult to handle alone. Most personal problems can be successfully resolved if identified early and treated appropriately. Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to acquaint you with your new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) effective July 1, 2017.
The EAP provides CONFIDENTIAL counseling services to assist employees in identifying and resolving personal problems no matter how unique and diverse they may appear. Examples of such problems include family and marital conflicts, stress, substance abuse, depression, and other emotion and psychological problems. While Meriden Public Schools has no desire to interfere in the private lives of its employees or their families, this service is being offered to help you resolve personal problems before they get out of control and begin to adversely affect your health.
You, or your immediately family members, may contact the EAP directly at any time. No matter what your situation, any assistance you seek through the EAP is held in the strictest confidence. Using the EAP services will not jeopardize an employee's job security, future promotional opportunities, or reputation.
