Discipline Policies

Discipline in the Meriden Pubic Schools is governed by Board of Education policy that defines acceptable student behavior and disciplinary actions which may be taken when the standards are not followed. These procedures are covered in the school handbooks and the Code of Conduct. Parents are advised to review them with their children. While school discipline is more often applied by the classroom teacher, school principals and assistant principals play the major decision-making role in the more serious disciplinary situations. Parents are encouraged to contact their children's schools when they have questions about any aspect of student discipline.
