Leonora Cajigas Rodriguez is a dedicated gerontologist with over 20 years of experience serving older adults in residential and community settings. Currently the Executive Director of the Milford Senior Center, she leads with compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults.
A proud graduate of Maloney High School, she credits the school with laying the foundation for meaningful, purpose-driven work. Educators of Maloney recognized her early leadership, a strong sense of justice and a passion for the arts—qualities that have shaped every chapter of her career.
Before stepping into executive leadership, she owned and operated an art studio and gallery in Meriden for a decade, using art as both creative expression and community connection. That spirit now informs her innovative work in aging services.
She holds certifications in Dementia Care, Mental Health First Aid, memory screening and creative aging and has supported the works of the Yale Social Gerontology and Health Lab. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Health Science at the University of Bridgeport, where her research focuses on integrating creative arts into mental health support for older adults. By bridging science and creativity, she aims to bring more joy, resilience, and healing to the aging experience.
