Migdalia was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Puerto Rican parents who immigrated to the United States seeking opportunity. She moved to Meriden in 1997, where her experiences as a parent in the public school system ignited her passion for advocacy and equity in education. She began her career in the Meriden Public Schools as a paraprofessional and later joined the Migrant Education Program. After earning her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, she served for a decade as the Site Coordinator for the Meriden Family Resource Center, where she implemented family engagement programs and became a trusted partner to Meriden’s diverse communities. She went on to coordinate community initiatives for Children First and later served as Outreach Coordinator for the Office of U.S. Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty.
Migdalia currently works as a Legislative Liaison at the Connecticut General Assembly. A long-time champion for families, educational access, and community empowerment, she brings lived experience, dedication, and a strong record of service to her role on the Meriden Board of Education.

Migdalia serves on the Curriculum Committee and Policy Committee.
