Mrs. Hayes was elected to the Meriden Board of Education in November 2023. She is the chair of the Policy Committee, a member of the Finance Committee, and ACES Board of Governors Liaison.

Mrs. Hayes and her husband, Jason, have resided in Meriden since 2006. They soon added their four children. It is because of them that Nickimmy became an active and engaged parent in the schools and the Meriden community. She has been a Secretary and Vice President of Pulaski’s PTO, the current Vice President of Nathan Hale’s PTO, and a member of Nathan Hale’s School Governance Council. Nickimmy is also a part of Edison’s PTO and a member of the Maloney Band Boosters. In the community, she has been an Assistant Cheer Coach with the Meriden Raiders for seven years and 2nd Vice President and Education Chair of the Meriden/Wallingford NAACP.
