What are Family Resource Centers?

Meriden Family Resource Centers are funded by a grant from the CT State Department of Education. We are located at John Barry and Benjamin Franklin Elementary schools and belong to an alliance of 57 other state-wide Family Resource Centers. We promote comprehensive, integrated, community-based systems of family support and child development services and programs for families of newborns through grade 5. Family Resource Centers foster a strong link between the school and the family which ultimately increases educational success and productive lifelong learning for children and families. Staff provides a safe, nurturing environment where children play, learn and grow together. Meriden Family Resource Centers are truly the ‘hub of help’ for all families with young children.
