Superintendent of Schools

Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for all of your support! I am inspired by our students and proud to be your Superintendent of Schools.  As a lifelong Meriden resident, a product of the Meriden Public Schools and a parent of two Meriden Public School students, I care deeply about our school system, our students, and staff.   I believe it is my responsibility to provide each and all of our students with the necessary opportunities to fulfill their hopes and dreams. The Meriden Public Schools provided me with an outstanding education that allowed me to fulfill so many of my dreams. As your educational leader, I am committed to making sure that all of our students complete challenging coursework in safe, supportive learning environments and also that our students leave our schools college and career ready.

Our efforts will focus on collaboration and innovation.  We are proud to launch full-day kindergarten for all of our students.  This past year, we offered enrichment programs for students in grades four, five, and eight.  Our innovations embraced technology and allowed us to improve service delivery and reduce expenditures.  All of our activities will focus on this simple question, "How will the decisions we make impact our students?"

We will work with students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, Board of Education members, city officials, service providers, and all community members who believe that it is our job to foster and support our children's dreams and desires.  In order for our students to be most successful, however, parents must be active partners with our dedicated teaching staff. Together, we will provide an education that successfully meets the needs and goals of all our students.

I look forward to working with you and your children.  It is my honor to be your Superintendent of Schools, and I am excited to continue to move the Meriden Public Schools into the 21st century and beyond. I am inspired by our students and confident that they will continue to impress us with their performance in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities, and in their volunteerism in the community.  In the Meriden Public Schools, we take pride in all we do.

I wish you and your family a most successful school year.

All the best!
