The Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Talent Development serves as a key member of the Superintendent’s executive cabinet, providing strategic vision, distributed leadership, and administrative direction across grades K–12, with primary supervisory oversight of the district’s high schools.

As an executive instructional leader, the Assistant Superintendent drives systemic high school improvement and academic rigor by evaluating and coaching high school principals to advance outcomes across all Connecticut Next Generation Accountability System indicators, SAT/NGSS targets, and college-and-career readiness benchmarks. This includes directing the expansion of Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment, Early College Experience (ECE), and alternative learning models to ensure equitable credit attainment for all students.

Beyond instructional priorities, the Assistant Superintendent leads human capital strategies, certified administrator evaluation frameworks (PDEC), and collective bargaining under the Teacher Negotiation Act (TNA). Additionally, the role serves as the district’s primary Legal Liaison for non-special education matters and Title IX Coordinator, maintaining full statutory compliance and promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.
