Magnet School/Middle School Choice Selection Process for 2018-2019

Meriden Public Schools has formed a partnership with ACES (Area Cooperative Educational Services) to offer Meriden students the opportunity to attend Thomas Edison Magnet School (grades 6-8). Available vacancies will be filled through a selection process. 

Middle School Choice Open House Nights

Each school administrator will do an individual presentation and tour on a separate night.  The school administrator will describe their programs and answer your questions about their school.

Tours from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m./Presentation from 7:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.

Thursday, November 2, 2017           Lincoln Middle School

Presentation from 6:30 p.m. -7:15p.m./Tours from 7:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 1, 2017    Thomas Edison Middle School

Tours, exhibits and an informational session going on from

6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

 Thomas Edison Magnet School Selection Process – Grade 6 Deadline is December 1, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. 

Applications will be available below or in the Office of the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning on November 13, 2017 for all students in both public and private school entering grade 6 in the next school year (2018-2019) and interested in participating in the Thomas Edison Middle School selection process.  Applications must be submitted by the December 1, 2017 4:00 p.m. deadline to be considered. Please fill out an application for each child and list the siblings.  Please realize, even if your child has a sibling who will be at the school, you must still file an application. Once a student is placed in a school, parents/students waive their right to an automatic placement in the middle school that serves their home address. Lincoln Middle School/Washington Middle School Selection Process -Grade 6 Deadline – February 28, 2018 at 4:00 pm

Applications will be available February 1, 2018 below or in the Office of the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning for all students in both public and private school entering grade 6 in the next school year (2018-2019) and interested in participating in the Lincoln/Washington Middle School selection process.

If you live in the Lincoln district, but would like your child to attend Washington, or if you live in the Washington district and would like your child to attend Lincoln, you must complete an application to participate in the selection process for available vacancies in grade 6 for the 2018-2019 school year.  Applications will be available February 1, 2018 and must be submitted by the February 28, 2018 4:00p.m. deadline.  Please fill out an application for each child and list the siblings.  Please realize, even if your child has a sibling who will be at the school, you must still file an application.  Once a student is placed in a school, parents/students waive their right to an automatic placement in the middle school that serves their home address.
